Our history
Founded by a practitioner, not a pitch deck.
lmental began as the natural extension of a decade of hands-on machine learning work. Our founder, Wilmer A. Gonzalez, is a machine learning engineer with a B.Sc. in Computer Science from Universidad Central de Venezuela, where he also spent years as a teaching assistant and later as adjunct professor of artificial intelligence and data mining.
Since 2016 he has shipped production AI under very different constraints: credit scoring models processing applications across more than five countries, NLP and social network analysis over 1.1M+ posts for the United Nations Development Programme, MLOps practices adopted across every ML use case at CPG analytics companies, and LLM agents that cut advisor waiting times for real estate and ERP platforms.
The pattern behind all of it was the same: the hard part is rarely the model — it is making technology fit an organization that still has a business to run. lmental exists to bring that experience to companies that need it without hiring a full AI team.
